| Land grabbing issue | | BJP demands action against politicians, bureaucrats involved | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 13: Militancy has proved a boom for corrupt politicians and bureaucrats and fatal for many innocents. Persons sitting at helm of affairs including our Chief Minister are unable to see land scams and undue accumulation of wealth by few land grabbers.
This was stated by BJP State Spokesperson Ramesh Arora while expressing party’s grave concern over the reports of encroachment by Ministers of the NC-Congress coalition. Arora questioned the intention of state Chief Minister while declaring 2011 as year of anti-corruption. Motive should be reflected in action and Ministers involved directly or indirectly should be sacked from the government.
It is open secret that prosecution is not sanctioned against Commissioner cum Secretary Mehboob Iqbal. It is also admitted fact that Bashir Khan has been posted as Dy Commissioner Udhampur despite pendency of Vigilance case against him. Police officials are not only patronizing land grabbers but are themselves involved in the same and Govt. still claims to provide corruption free administration, which is
a cruel joke.
Citing one case of land encroachment, Arora said that Tilak Raj son of Late Karam Chand and other local residents of Partapgarh have approached us to express their painful story and handed over documents. As per record also they are owner of land in village Chak Lalu Shah in Khasara No. 1,2,3 min 6 etc now renumbered as Khasara
No. 1 and Revenue Official connived with politician and changed the possession of 342 kanals 4 marla in village Chak Lalu Shah and in column 3 Shabnum Taj, Nowsheen Taj and Urshi Taj D/o Taj Mohi-ud-Din Gujjar at present Gandhi Nagar were recorded or cultivator “Qabiza Najaiz”. Family is being also forced to relinquish their rights. Even
daughter of the politician remain outside the country and 100 kanals of land was entered in the name of Shabnum Taj. Similarly another 100 kanal in the name of Nowsheen Taj, 142 kanal and 4 marla on the name of Urshi Taj.
Govt. should issue a (white paper) about the details of State land, Forest land, Nazool land and other and the extent of lands grabbed or encroached and steps taken.
“We demand action against politicians, bureaucrats and Police nexus but the same is possible if a high power judicial commission is appointed to catch the big sharks.” BJP spokesperson said
