Functioning of health institutions reviewed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar Feb 13: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma today stressed upon the health officers, especially doctors and para-medical staff to make every effort to provide all possible better medicare to the patients and described it a noble occupation. Congratulating the medical fraternity of the Valley, the minister said that despite 5 months long unrest in the valley, the doctors and para-medical staff provided 24 hours medical facilities to the patients which was a major achievement of the department. The minister said that the medical staff of Ladakh and Doda are also doing well in providing better health cover to people. Earlier the Director, Health Mohammad Amin informed the minister that 31 projects are under construction at a cost of Rs 25 crore of which Rs 21.13 crore have been spent so far. He said 4 CT scan Machines are being installed in Baramulla, Anantnag, Handwara and Pulwama district Hospitals for which Rs 6.41 crore have been released. Regarding patient care, the minister was informed that 50,96,592 outdoor and 30,7,104 indoor patients were provided medicare in various hospitals of the valley during last 10 months of the current fiscal. In addition, 44,407 and 15,253 small and major surgeries were conducted respectively.
