NSUI demands potable drinking water for Govt Schools | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 13: NSUI appealed state government to provide safe and clean drinking water to students of government institutions. In a press statement issued to media, state general secretary NSUI Arjun Singh Pathania said that students of government schools are provided with unsafe water. He added that govt. school students are mostly provided drinking water in cement reservoirs which are hardly cleaned for years. He said that NSUI has received numerous complaints regarding unsafe water supplied by PHE department especially in Jammu city area. Pathania said that impure water is provided to schools by means of mis-installed and outdated pipeline system. He demanded clean water reservoirs fitted with water purifiers of good quality for students of government schools. NSUI leader demanded that government should conduct monthly clinical tests by taking samples of drinking water from all the schools to ensure that safe drinking water is provided to each and every government school.
