Omar inaugurates Police Public Mela | Raffle draw held, results announced | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 13: Appreciating the spirit behind holding Police Public Melas by Jammu and Kashmir Police for the welfare of police martyrs families, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today said that solidarity and sympathy with the police martyrs families should be our prime concern. Omar said that government will provide all help to the Jammu and Kashmir Police in this stupendous task. He said this while inaugurating one day Police Public Mela here today. On this occasion, Payal Abdullah accompanied the Chief Minister. In the Mela 40 different stalls of various police units from across the State and several private entrepreneurs were installed in the Mela. The Chief Minister, Payal Abdullah and other dignitaries inspected the stalls and shown keen interest in the goods and various items of utility displayed at the stalls. In the evening, the raffle draw was held in presence of large gathering. Small children drawn from the gathering picked the lucky numbers for prizes of different categories in presence of Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda, Chairperson, J&K Police Wives Welfare Association, Dr. Indu Khoda, Additional Directors General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar and Dr. Ram Lubahya, senior police officers and lady members of JKPWWA. The four first prizes comprising of four FORD Figo cars went to the raffle draw ticket holder numbers A-89336, B-76699, C-85804 and D-80625. 2nd prize four Hyundai Santro Car s were bagged by ticket number A-83819, B-06435, C-62714 and D-56218. The 3rd prize four Hero Honda Motor Cycles were won by ticket number A-97191, B-40164, C-67281 and D-52387. The Special Bumper Prize which has been introduced first time in the Raffle Draw including one Tata Nano Car, one Laptop, one Refrigerator, one Washing Machine, one CTV, one Sony Handicam, one Stereo Philips, one Mobile Phone, one Gas Stove, one Sandwich Maker and one Dinner Set has been bagged by ticket No. C-14531. DGP Khoda announced that cash prizes of Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 200 will be handed over to the prize winners through the respective District Superintendents of Police on the production of raffle draw tickets. People from all walks of life attended the raffle draw and hailed the transparency in which raffle draw was held.
