RBBA for giving antique look to water taps | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 14: Development and beautification committee of Raghunath Bazar Businessmen Association (RBBA) has urged PHE authorities to give antique look to the water taps installed by the department in the bazaar, by providing 155 years old crude iron lion mouthed shape decoration covers. In a handout issued here today, members of development and beautification committee of RBBA have said that PHE has installed 12 water taps in the bazaar. To give the bazaar antique and historical look, they added that crude iron decoration covers with lion mouthed shaped decoration should be provided to these tapes. It may be mentioned here that in 2009-10, a project for development and beautification of Raghunath Bazar, estimated to cost 5.78 crores was prepared. Governor had sanctioned Rs. 1 crore while the Chief Minister had also sanctioned another Rs. 2 crore. There is provision for giving antique look to the PHE water taps in the bazaar for which Rs. 12 lakhs have been ear marked. Committee stressed upon the higher authorities to take up the work at the earliest and soon after PDD finishes its electrification work. Those who called on the PHE authorities included K.L.Bhalla, Sachin Khurana, Sanjay Gupta, Nitish Choudhary, Vikas Gupta and other committee members.
