Banquet Hall on EP land at Udheywala soon: Bhalla

JAMMU, Feb 14: For making it a recurring source for revenue generation, the State
Government is embarking on a plan to develop banquet halls, shopping and residential complexes on the vacant evacuee land across the State to be put on lease to the interested parties, announced Minister for
Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla while chairing a meeting of Custodian and Revenue Department officers at Civil Secretariat, here this afternoon.
Interacting with the Officers, Bhalla said Government is planning to
construct Banquet Hall on 20 kanal proposed site of Evacuee Property
(EP) at Udheywala with facilities of parking, landscape, kitchen, drinking water etc for which Government has earmarked Rs 5 crore for construction of double storey complex on modern lines. He said on the construction of it, the people of city of temples would arrange social as well as religious functions there on nominal fee fixed by the EP authorities.
The Minister informed, the construction work of 48 residential flats in four blocks at Sarkar Meen village in Bari Brahamna is nearing completion on 715 Sq ft. carpet area adding that after completion the units would be allotted to interested applicants @ Rs. 5.60 lakh per unit. The complex would have 2-bed room, one drawing room, kitchen and bathroom facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Nasir informed the utility of EP land for generating the income resources, he said complexes and residential flats would be constructed on the hundreds of vacant evacuee property land and the same would be provided on the prescribed rates for offices and people in general.
Earlier, as a part of Basant Panchami celebrations, Bhalla attended a function organized by management of Shri Sanatam Dharam High School, Rehari in the sprawling premises of the institution.
On the occasion, the students of different classes presented a colourful cultural programme which was highly appreciated by the audience.
Later, at Shastri Nagar, Bhalla inaugurated Hello Kids pre-school branch.
