| JKPF delegation leaves for Dhaka to participate in seminar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 14: A delegation of JK Peace Foundation (JKPF), an NGO, today left Jammu for attending a two day international seminar on peace at Dhaka to be commenced from February 20.
Led by its Chief Patron Sheikh Abdul Rehman accompanied by Fayaz Ahmed Bhatt Chairman, Ram Singh Chouhan General Secretary and Sheikh Mohd Shafi are part of the delegation.
The Seminar shall be attended by several imminent intellectuals, academicians, peace activities and Parliamentarians of Pakistan, India and Bangladesh.
The conference is aimed to deliberate at length to impress upon their respective governments to refrain from expending crores of revenue for purchasing war material for destruction of humanity. Instead of spending on deadly weapons, the money should be diverted to remove hunger and creating infrastructure for health, education and other developmental sectors. The peace initiative further aims at formation of a confederation of these countries on European pattern for mutual peace and prosperity and keeping away the clouds of tensions and conflicts.
