Dr. Ambedkar Convent School celebrates Annual day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 14: Minister for Higher Education, Labour and Employment, Abdul Gani Malik has underlined the importance of education in treading the path of progress and prosperity. He said education is the only means to produce capable and efficient human resources. Addressing an annual day function of Dr. Ambedkar Convent School, Bantalab, here, Malik called for imparting quality education to the students. "Competitions are increasingly going global necessitatory to prepare student community with b roader vision and upgraded skills", he said. Malik said government has created and upgraded hundreds of schools across the state over the years with focus on promoting literacy rate and reduce school drop outs. He exhorted teachers to impart education in such a manner as would chisel their talent and bring forth their creative faculties of mind. Member Legislative Assembly, Bharat Bushan, said that J&K State is fast marching towards cent percent literacy. He asked the teaching faculty to work harder to shape the students' career by imparting education in a scientific and methodological manner. He demanded organizing of Rozgar Mela in Kot Balwal area to sensitize youth about self-employment schemes. Jagjiveen Lal, former Minister also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, the students of the Institute presented cultural programmes. Among others, Principal of Dr. Ambedkar Convent School and Principal Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk besides a large number of students, parents and teachers were present on the occasion.
