Children education tour flagged off | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 14- To spearhead development and welfare activities for the people of Bani and Machhedi in Kathua district and as part of Army’s ‘Operation Sadbhavana” project, Maj. Gen Kanwaljit Singh, GOC, 29 Inf. Div flagged off a 15-day education tour of 25 children and two teachers from Bani and Machhedi tehsil to various major cities of India at Samba today. The children will visit the cities of Amristar, Delhi, Jaipur, Agra and Chandigarh before returning back to Mamun Cantt. The aim of the tour is to boost national integration and to enhance the awareness about the country’s rich heritage to the children of these remote areas. Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Kanwaljit Singh emphasized on the need of the Sadbhavana project to cater for the development of the interiors by addressing the actual requirements of the local populace. He also lauded the civil administration and local army units for working together and contributing in the development of the areas and bringing peace and harmony back to the state.
