PDP leader threatens Aquaf administrator with revolver | | | JAMMU: An Auqaf board administrator was today threatened with a revolver by a PDP leader who had allegedly encroached upon the board land at Mohalla Dalpatian. Following complaints that 1.5 kanals of the board land was allegedly encroached by some people close to Baba Dhol ziarat at Mohalla Dalpatian, a board team, led by administrator Raj Mohammad, today visited the locality. Raj said there were also complaints that the "encroached" land was being sold to some persons. He said when he reached the spot, the alleged land grabbers were already there. "The ziarat was covered in a litter of cow dung. When I raised objection, one Manjeet Singh entered into a verbal brawl with me and also abused me," the administrator alleged. Manjit then took out his revolver, threatening him of dire consequences if he did not leave the spot, he alleged. A complaint was later lodged by the auqaf officials with police. Sources said police had registered a case against Manjit under section 353 of RPC and 3/25 of Arms Act. Manjit, a PDP leader, is the father of Royal Singh, one of the accused in Amandeep murder. |
