| Cong MLC exhorts upon people to gear up for panchayat elections | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 15: Member Legislative Council Ravinder Sharma, general secretary & spokesperson has asked the people to gear up for ensuing Panchayat poll and elect honest and dedicated people to the Panchayats.
Addressing a meeting at Dak Banglow Sunderbani Sharma asked the people to choose honest and competent persons who could serve them better.
He said Panchayats will be empowered and it would get strengthened and the Panchayats would have more powers to address the problems of people.
Congress led UPA government has already extended full support to Jammu and Kashmir for overall development in various sectors, he added.Prominent leaders of Sunderbani highlighted the problems of their respective areas Sharma listened to the problems of people relating to drinking water, power, shortage of APL ration and other developmental issues.
He asked the PHE authorities to take up construction of shallow wells and developing water resources where tanker services can not deliver in absence of road connectivity.
He also talked to DCC Rajouri in this regard, who assured that funds will be made available to meet the water crises in ensuing summer. Later, he held the meeting with the sentoral officers of tehsil Sunderbani and took stock of various activities of different departments.
