Agricultural Technocrats to sit on fast unto death | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 15The Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Technocrats Association (JKATA) would sit on ‘fast unto death’ from February 21 if their demands would not be considered at an earliest. Addressing the media-persons here, Surinder Radhotra, president of the Association, said that technocrats had called off their agitation on November 16, 2009 after the assurance of Adviser to Chief Minister Mubarak Gul at Dharna site on behalf of Chief Minister that all the agricultural technocrats would be regularized in 2010, but till now government failed to formulate any policy for the regularization of Rehbar-e-Ziraats. He said that the office bearers of the Association has moved from pillar to post and approached all the authorities including Chief Minister for issuing of orders of regularization by the State Government. The Government has adopted the delaying tactics resulting into harassment of trained agricultural technocrats and forcing them to follow the agitational path to get their due rights. Riyaz Rather, secretary of Kashmir province in his address said that all the technocrats from Kashmir division to participate in the agitation and sit on dharna and warned the government for serious consequences. Prominent who were present on the occasion were Jai Krishan Vashisht (president, Samba), Sanjeev Verma (president Kathua), Sanjay Puri (president, Reasi), Ejaz Dar (president, Rajouri), Yasir Tak (president, Doda) besides others.
