Lecturers welcome announcement of Peerzada | | | =EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Feb 15: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum (JPLF) has welcomed the announcement of Minister for Education Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for converting the higher secondary schools of the state into intermediate colleges. Appreciating the announcement made by the Minister, state president JPLF H.D Qureshi said that it will improve the education sector in the state. He said that it a historic victory as it is the outcome of constant struggle in which the state government has finally conceded in the up gradation of higher secondary schools as intermediate colleges in the State. Addressing a press conference, Qureshi said that the re- organization of the Department initiated in late eighties will ensure academic upliftment, punctuality and accountability, besides the opening of promotional channels for the elevation of teachers’ fraternity in the state. Qureshi also appealed the Chief Minister and Minister for Education for personal intervention to get the decision of State cabinet implemented and save the cadre in this hour of crises where about 7000 incharge incumbents are awaiting their confirmation since 1998 that include lecturers, headmasters, principals and other senior officers despite categorical decision of cabinet for regularization. He said that lecturers’ fraternity has full faith in the government that they would solve their issues and they are hopeful that their problems would be addressed immediately. Many others present on the occasion included Kashmir Province president Manzoor Ahmed, vice presidents Charan Dass and Manmeet Bali, N.S Jamwal and Bashir Ahmed, BD Sharma district president Jammu, Kiranjeet and OP Katoch.
