| Cricket: Semis line-up drawn in Friendship Cup | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 15: Semi-finals position has been cleared in the ongoing Friendship Cup Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Simula Sports Club, at MA Stadium, here today.
Six teams from Jammu and Srinagar played in the league round and finally four of them made it to the knock-out stages of semi-finals.
Teams qualifying for the last four stages are Simula XI, Akash Cricket Club Srinagar, Shafi Cricket Club Srinagar and Sports Club Srinagar. Semifinals have been scheduled for February 17 at the same venue, followed by the final on February 18.
Earlier, in the last league tie, played today, Simula XI defeated Sports Club Srinagar by a margin of 24 runs.
Batting first, after winning the toss, Simula set a target of 133 runs for the loss of three wickets, which, in reply, Sports Club could not chase and bowled out for 108 runs.
Dhruv Mahajan and Hilal Rather were top scorers from Simula XI with 36 and 39 runs in their respective accounts. From Sports Club, Showkat claimed two wickets.
Later, Sports Club failed to attain the goal and in the process lost all their wickets making 108 runs. Adnan was most successful bowler from Simula with four wickets.
