| Cong, NC owe explanation to nation on Karakoram, Gilgit | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 15: The Congress and NC leaders owe explanation to the entire Nation for shedding crocodile tears on Karakoram, 47 years of sell out by Pakistan in 1963 to China under the so-called Karachi Agreement signed between Chou-en-Lai and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto as Foreign Ministers of their respective countries. J&K territory measuring about 5,000 sq. miles was sold by Pakistan to China on a so called lease for 99 years .
This was stated by Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party at a press conference in Srinagar this morning
``This sell out was in total violation of UNCIP Resolutions (13th August, 1948) which had directed Pakistan to vacate all occupied territories of J&K. India kept silent whereas China had built Karakoram Highway connecting Beijing to Peshawar and this day China has constructed 16 military helipads and has been supplying military equipment to Pakistan".
Panthers Party regretted that both Congress and NC leaders have been bluffing the entire Nation on their failures and blunders they committed vis-a-vis J&K in the past. He asked the Chief Minister to let the people know what right he has to accuse someone who has doubts on Karakoram's status, which is already under the military occupation of China, when he himself publicly declared on the floors of the Assembly that J &K was not an integral part of India. He questioned about the justification Chidambaram and the Congress spokesman to condemn those who are doubting the status of Karakoram or Gilgit when both the Union Home Minister and the Congress justified the most seditious statement of J&K Chief Minister challenging J&K Accession to the Union. Let Chief Minister and Chidambaram tell the world about the status of Gilgit and Karakoram. Or what they have done to liberate that part of the Union from China, Bhim Singh questioned both.
The NPP Chief said that entire Gilgit-Baltistan has been grabbed by Pakistan by appointing its Governor under the so-called Reforms Law in November 2010 as its province. Why the Union Govt. and NC kept quiet?
