Met Trade India workers hold protest, flays management | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua, Feb 15, The workers of Met Trade India Private Ltd held a massive protest under the banner of Industrial Workers Association led by the general secretary of CITU Raj Kumar in the industrial area of the Kathua against the cruel attitude of the management of industry to crush the lives of more than 387 workers in the industry. The leaders of the workers association along with CITU general secretary Raj Kumar accused the labour department, DIC and entire administration for spoon feeding the Met Trade Management to befool the innocent labours of the industry and alleged industrial management for allegedly violating its own agreement which had been taken place several times in the presence of entire kathua administration. The sufferer workers of the Met Trade India Pvt. Ltd said that Industry had expelled forcibly more than 387 workers on December 25, 2009 by adopting illegal means and without showing any advance notice and stopped to give the pending wages also and closed the gate permanently as per pre-determined conspiracy to conceal the illegal activities the factory. They alleged that the labour department had failed to solve the workers problems and they seemed to have shaken their hands with management because no action has been taken by them as per the direction of secretary of labor department. Other side when the workers approached the DIC to submit the application as per Right to Information to get the real status of the factory in concern of the workers future who had been expelled illegally, DIC refused to give the details and stressed to collect the answer of RTI from the office of the Directorate Industries. They said that all these things shows how the DIC and Labor department has been playing in the hands of the factory management and boosting the atrocities of the management over the innocent struggling local labors.
