| Seminar on 'Career in Punjabi’ held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 15: As part of ongoing series of extension lectures and seminars being organized by the college in different subjects and issues, a one day seminar on 'Career in Punjabi' was organized by Department of Punjabi of Govt .M.A.M. College today.
Dr. Updesh Kour. head of Department and Dr. Baljeet Kour, Senior Assistant Professor from department of Punjabi. University of Jammu were the main resource persons,
Dr. Updesh Kour in her presentation explained in detail the role of' Punjabi language in promoting cultural harmony between various sections of the society.
She talked about the hurdles in the way of popularizing the language in the state and also suggested measures to overcome the problems. She also shared with the students various career options available before them with Punjabi as a subject for various competitive examinations.
Daleet Kour talked a lot about value system in the society .She said that Punjabi language is not a language of a particular community but of the entire society .She also explained the significance of subject Punjabi for different careers .She was of the opinion that Punjabi language teaches in depth about oneness and brotherhood.
Dr. Ajeet. Angral Principal of the College in his welcome address said that the presentation and interaction by such academicians will go a long way in promoting self-confidence among the students. Staff and students to sit together and discuss about the significance of the subject und plan for strengthening of the subject by such seminars in different subjects.
The lectures were followed by an interactive session in which number of queries was made by the participants and which were answered by the resource persons in a most simple and detective manner.
