Mehboob seeks apology from Mehbooba | | | Early Times report Srinagar, Feb 15: National Conference (NC) leader, Mehboob Beg today sought a public apology from Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti for her controversial map showing parts of Jammu Kashmir territory under Chinese control. Beg said Mahbooba had committed a blunder by showing parts of Jammu Kashmir in China. She must tender an unconditional apology, Beg said in a statement here this evening. The PDP displayed a map last week during a press conference showing parts of stae under Chinese control. The map evoked severe reaction. The PDP spokesman, Nayeem Akhter , however, clarified that the map did not mean anything politically. The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah also reacted. He said: "gifting away of state's territory will not be acceptable.” Baig, who represents Anantnag-Pulwama constituency in Lok Shabha, said PDP had no knowledge about geography of the state. He accused the PDP of creating hurdles in forthcoming Indo-Pak talks.
