Army vigilant on ultras' shifting' from J&K: Lt Gen Choudhary | | | YOL Cantt (HP), Feb 15: In the backdrop of militants shifting from the mountainous belts of Jammu and Kashmir to the neighbouring states, 9 corps GOC Lt Gen A K Choudhary today said tight vigil was being maintained on movement and infiltration of militants in the area. Interacting with mediapersons at 9 Corps headquarters here this morning, he said, "Due to the mounting pressure of security forces on them, militants have started shifting to the neighbouring states like Himachal Pradesh and others. Army was maintaining vigil along the borders to track down the movement of militants, the GOC added. "We are keeping a close watch with the help of local police and the required action is being taken," he added. On Chinese incursion, Lt Gen Choudhary said it was not exactly an incursion and added, "The land is not properly demarcated. Till the border line is not fully demarcated, troops on both sides will continue to do security runs as per their perceptions." Army was maintaining vigil along the Sino-India border and if required action would be taken, he added.The GOC said due to improper demarcation of Line of Actual Control (LAC), they enter the Indian Territory but ruled out any threat to India as such. "Army is fully geared up to fight for the integrity of the country be it China or Pakistan,’’ Lt Gen Choudhary said.He said borders were fully manned and army was ready to meet any eventuality and they were carefully examining the situation time to time.
