| PDP alleges misappropriation in central schemes | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Feb 16: People Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly criticized NC-Congress coalition government for its apathetic attitude towards the welfare of the people and lack of developmental works going on in the state.
In a handout issued here today, PDP leader Shahzad Khan said that highly appreciable centrally sponsored schemes and projects under Bharat Nirman are not being implemented in letter and spirit in the state. He added that rural employment scheme under MNERGA is not being properly implemented by the authorities.
Shahzad said that the wages are distributed in fake names of labourers, fake muster rolls and fake job cards. He added that rural electrification scheme under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidhyutikaran Yojna (RGGVY) is also not being implemented as claimed by the government. Shahzad further said that funds under Border Area Development Programme are too being misappropriated by the government authorities.
He said that border areas of Rajouri which are to be benefited under the scheme are left out while funds are diverted to other areas. He further said the people are also not getting the benefits under the Indira Awas Yojna as it is the near and dear ones of the authorities who actually get the benefits and that too not only once but time and again.
