J&K to book land grabber under PSA | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 16: With media exposing various land scams in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir government today decided to impose Public Safety Act (PSA) against land grabbers if they do not vacate encroached prime lands of the government. "We ask the land grabbers to vacate the government land voluntarily, otherwise they will face action under PSA," minister for revenue, relief and rehabilitation Raman Bhalla said while interacting with people in Channi Himat area. He asked the people not to encroach government lands and said that revenue department has asked the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners to identify the land grabbers and take stern action against them. During the past week, there were media reports highlighting politician, bureaucrats and police officers involved in grabbing prime lands in Jammu city. Instructions have been issued to revenue staff to stop giving ownership rights of 'gair mumkin khuds' (unorganised wetlands), which were the main sources of encroachment by the land grabbers, he said. Bhalla warned the officials against patronising and officially supporting the land grabbers.
