| Smriti Irani to address BJP rally | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mahila Morcha will organise a public rally at Jammu on March 23 to felicitate the war widows in the state.
The BJP Mahila Morcha national president and bollywood celebrity-turned-politician Smriti Irani will address the rally.
This was stated by the BJP Mahila Morcha state president, Sakina Bano while addressing a meeting of prominent office bearers at party headquarters in presence of state president, Shamsher Singh Manhas.
Sakina said that the BJP has always taken deep interest in matters related to strengthening and boosting the morale of Indian soldiers who have been working to ensure that the people in this border state feel secure and protected from the designs of neighbouring country and its sponsored militancy.
“Thousands of our soldiers have laid down their lives in Jammu and Kashmir during direct and proxy wars raised by Pakistan. Before the BJP-led NDA at the Centre, the predecessor governments at the Centre did lip service than providing adequate compensation and create means of regular income of the families of soldiers sacrificing their lives for the national cause in Jammu and Kashmir,” she maintained.
Declaring to felicitate war widows on March 23 at Jammu, Sakina said that BJP Mahila Morcha would be the chief guest of a function, to be organised for the purpose.
Sakina Bano further announced that the Mahila Morcha will soon set up “Naari Shakti Kendra” in every district with an objective of taking stock of the economic, social, legal and health related problems of women-folk and work towards providing them all possible help for the mitigation of the women’s problems.
