| Extension activities to promote social cause organized by MIER College of Education | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 16: As a regular feature of the college activities, the extension unit of MIER college of education organised two activities at SOS Home Channi Rama and Kabir Basti.
In the first activity a lecture on the topic ‘Effects of Drug Addiction on Adolescents’ was delivered by Ms. Pallavi Singh, head of Mashwara drug de-addiction centre who was the resource person on the occasion.
The dignitaries present on the occasion were Pallavi Sachdeva from Deptt. of Continuing Adult Education & Extension, University of Jammu and A. K. Arora, patron chief, director, principal and staff of SOS Home.
Pallavi also formally introduced the key resource person to the audience.
In her lecture, Singh discussed about the different types of drugs & enumerated upon the drastic effects of drug addiction which has entangled the adolescent kids in its deadly web.
This menace is giving an alarm of wiping out an entire generation, she emphasized.
She further explained the major reasons which trigger this habit and also said that this habit is increasing immensely in our society today which can only hinder or restrain us from accomplishing our goals or dreams in life.
She stressed that it can lead to harming one’s body, causing problems in family structure and contributes to delinquency amongst children.
