| POLITICIANS WANT US TO RESORT TO VIOLENCE | | | Jammu,Nov 11 A premiere Kashmiri pandit organization, Jammu and Kashmir Vichar Manch on Saturday said central and state leadership including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh are deceiving Kashmiri pandits and are not serious about their permanent rehabilitation. Addressing a press conference here in Jammu at Press club on Saturday senior Vice President of the Vichar Manch, Dr RL Bhat said," two years ago on November 18, 2004 Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh played a high trick on Kashmiri pandits by promising that his government would work for their safe return but till date not much progress has been achieved inthis regard". Besides promising two room tenements Prime Minister had announced setting up of an interministerial committee to look into our demands. "Today i want to know from Prime Minister what happened to that committee". The committee had produced a huge report before listening to demands of diplaced migrant community but their recommendations are yet to be fulfilled. He said, now Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had also jumped in the arena and making efforts to woo pandit community.CM had recently announced that he would form another high level committee to look into the demands of the Kashmiri pandit community while addressing migrant community during one day conference at Abhinav theatre. Dr Bhat expressed fears that with chief ministers announcement the PM's interministerial committe has been totally nullified. Responding to the questions of mediapersons, Dr Bhat said close scrutiny of these two announcements meant that Prime Minister didnot mean any of the words he said on stage during his visit to Muthi camp in November 2004 and that he was deceving exiled migrant community or CM also didnot mean any of the words he recently said and he too is only deceiving us. National President of the Vichar Manch PN Razdan and state President AK Kangan were also present onthe occasion. They asked the central government o come clear on their policy. "Why are you playing tricks on exiled Kashmiri pandits instead of coming to their aid"?.Come clear on your policy, Razadan said. "We want to return to Kashmir but political parties in our state are not serious. They are encashing our miseries and playing politics", Dr Bhat said. He said it appears that government have adopted policy of calculated insensitivity towards the displaced Kashmir migrants and want us to shell path of non violence and instead resort to violent means. |
