Judicial remand of Kashmir bar chief extended

JAMMU, Feb 17 : Special mobile magistrate Jammu today extended judicial remand of President of Kashmir Bar Association Mian Abdul Qayoom by 15 days.Qayoom was arrested by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) in case FIR 107 under section 120-B/121-A/124-A RPC and 13 unlawful activities act. He was produced in the court of Special Mobile Magistrate Jammu R.N.Wattal by SHO Police Station (PS) Gharota for judicial remand for a period of 15 days.Court after perusing CD file adjudicated that grounds enumerated in the application for further remand are well found and accordingly remanded the accused to judicial custody at Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu for further period of 15 days from today.Meanwhile, in his petition, Mian Abdul Qayoom had stated that he is suffering frozen shoulder, tennis elbow and dental ailments and required treatment by specialist doctors. Court after the hearing MA Qayoom directed Superintendent Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu to provide medical assistance of a specialist to MA Qayoom in the jail premises.
