Induction into IPS | HC issues notice to J&K govt | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 17 : State high court today issued notice to Jammu and Kashmir government in a petition filed by a police officer aggrieved of his non-induction in IPS despite being eligible. The petitioner Mushtaq Ahmed Kenu has challenged government order Dated July 17, 2009 and subsequent Govt order dated April 29, 2010 on various grounds. He has prayed that the present status of the petitioner and seniority position attained by him in terms of govt order dated Sept 4, 2003 be maintained. Court has further prayed that official respondents be commanded to consider case of petitioner for his induction into IPS and to restrain them from concluding process of induction of state police officer into IPS cadre on the basis of seniority drawn in terms of the impugned Govt orders.Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir after hearing Sr. Adv ZA Shah with Adv Vipin Gandotra for the petitioners and Sr. Adv MK Bhardwaj with Adv Ajay Abrol alongwith Adv Javed Iqbal for the caveators issued notice to respondents returnable within two weeks and directed registry to also issue notice to KK Pangotra ASGI and Gagan Basotra AAG and observed that no interim relief except notice can be granted at this stage and discharged the caveats and directed Registry to list the case on March 5, 2011.
