JMC continues drive against adulteration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 17: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and penalized the defaulters. In an official handout issued here today, Municipal Veterinary Officer Alongwith field staff conducted drive against the adulteration of milk and visited areas of Gujjar Nagar, Qasim Nagar, Narwal, Channi, Greater Kailash and Trikuta Nagar. During the drive, 52 milk cans were checked and 1 of sub-standard quality was destroyed on spot. Further continuing drive to check menace of stray animals, team also visited the areas of Amphalla, Rehari, Janipur, Jewel Area, Bhagwati Bahu Fort, Narwal, Railway Road, Trikuta Nagar, Gandhi Nagar and lifted 17 stray animals from these areas. Stray animals were impounded in the Municipal Cattle Pound. A total amount of Rs. 3450 was charged as fine from the erring milk vendors and owners of stray animals.Besides this, Enforcement staff led by Chief Enforcement Officer (CIO) Satish Khajuria continued drive to implement ban on the use of polythene carry bags and inspected the shops and other outlets in the areas of Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar. During the inspection, team seized about 7 Kilograms of polythene carry bags from the shopkeepers, vendors and others outlets and an amount of Rs. 3000 was charged as fine from 10 defaulters on spot who were using the polythene carry bags in these areas.
