| Problems of farmers should be redressed at the earliest: Manhas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Feb 17 : The slogan of “Jai Jawan Jai Kissan” which was once a source of inspiration for the entire nation has today forgotten and reduced into a dustbin of history by Congress-NC rulers, says State President Shamsher Singh Manhas while addressing one -day Kissan Sammelan organized by BJP Kissan Morcha at Nagbani. It was attended by farmers from every part of the state. Shamsher Singh Manhas, in his address, said that while a farmer (Kissan) is made to run from pillar to post for getting fertilizers, seeds, irrigational water and other requirements on time and added that still there is no clear policy for his survival. “Many a time the crops get damaged due to natural calamities like floods, droughts etc. and if during any season he hopes of getting good crop, he has to suffer losses due to non-availability of seeds and fertilizers on time”, he added. He further said that the Congress-NC political setup is more interested in pursuits which have given rise to so many scams and meaningless political posturing on sterile autonomy demand. He stressed on Unity among the farming community so that a strong voice is raised and government made to work towards solving their problems.
