| Friendship Cup Cricket: Simula XI faces SCC in final today | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 17: Simula XI shall take on Shafi Cricket Club (SCC) in the final of the Friendship Cup Cricket Tournament, organised by Simula Sports Club, at MA Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Simula XI trounced Sports Club Srinagar by 15 runs. Batting first, Simula set a target of 116 runs for the loss of two wickets in the 15 overs game, which, in reply, Sports Club could not chase and the whole side bowled out for 90 runs in 14 overs.
Nasir Khan was top scorer with 40 runs while Dhruv Mahajan and Hilal Rather contributed 32 and 20 runs respectively. From Sports Club, Showkat claimed one wicket.
Later, chasing the target, visiting Sports Club lost all their wickets for 90 runs. Showkat was only batsman who scored in double figure with 12 runs in his account.
Meanwhile, in another semi-final of the day, Shafi Cricket Club (SCC) registered a three wicket win over Akash Cricket Club.
Earlier, batting first, Akash Club lost all their wickets for 61 runs in stipulated 15 overs. Gulzar Ahmed scored maximum 12 runs. Abid claimed four wickets from SSC. Later, Shafi Club attained the 62 runs target in 14 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Abid remained top scorer with 30 runs in his account. Gulzar took two wickets.
