| Govt for providing better road connectivity in state: Charak | | | Jammu, November 11 Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak has reiterated the commitment of government to provide better road connectivity across the state for facilitating speedy socio, economic development of the people. Minister said this while interacting with people during his tour to Samba constituency on Saturday. During his visit, the Minister inspected pace of work on construction of 150.90 meter long RCC vented causeway, double lanning over Devak Nallah at Utterbani, Jammu. The causeway is being constructed under state sector at an estimated cost of Rs. 3 crore by the Public Work Department. T he work was started during March 2006 and is expected to be completed by December this year. On completion this will benefit over 10,000 population by connecting. Dhoom, Deon, Punjwa, Godgani, Mandal, Kewuli and also provide hassle free access to the sacred pilgrimages of Utterbani and Purmandal. The Minister also inspected 10 k.m. in Utterbani-Purmandal road which is to be widened. He said work would be taken up very soon at an estimated cost of Rs.11.50 crore to be funded by Asian Development Bank. He further said that double lanning of 16 kms Kaluchak-Purmandal road would also be taken up at an estimated cost of Rs.4.26 lakh in near future. During the visit, the Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer, Roads and Buildings Mr. M.M. Sharma, Managing Director, JKPCC, Mr. Mohammad Shaban Mir and XEN Roads and Buildings Division-IV Mr. R. S. Sudan. |
