| Jan launches plantation drive | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Poonch , Feb 17: MLA Poonch Ajaz Jan today launched an extensive plantation drive in haveli constituency in poonch by planting in a day covering 100 acres of land
. In his attempt to go environmental friendly he launched this drive in coordination with Govt Higher secondary School Staff And Student poonch. The area for plantaion was identified to be located in Poonch City & block poonch which faces severe drought like conditions during most part of the year..
He also addressed a large gathering there and listened to their grievances. The first to come was non availability of drinking water and the NC Leader sanctioned 2 hand pumps on spot and in the meantime issued directions to XEN PHE Poonch to arrange a water tanker on alternate days till some relief is provided.
Speaking on the occasion the legislator laid on the importance of trees as an alternate source of energy for future generations. HE also warned the people about the global warming and climate changes and the reasons for that, he described plantation as the only remedy to all this known so far,,
