Khadi exhibition of KVIC concludes

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Feb 17: Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) concluded its Khadi exhibition today at Kala Kendra Vikram Chowk Jammu.
Main objective of the exhibition was to provide platform to Khadi and Village Industries institutions and REGP/PMEGP units. A large number of Khadi institutions from J&K participated in the exhibition. Hand spun and hands woven clothes attracted the attention of buyers. Beautiful Kashmir shawls were in demand.
Honey, Herbal items toys leather items fancy wooden items and eco-friendly products were also sold in the exhibition. A live demonstration of (E-Charkha) electronic charkha was praised by all the visitors. Woolen, cotton and silk fabrics and readymade were also got very good response from buyers.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Sanjeev Verma was the Chief Guest of the closing ceremony. He praised the role of KVIC for promoting the schemes of the Central Government. He said “we can eradicate unemployment if people adopt Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme and other schemes in true spirit’ He also appreciated the art work on Pashmina Shawls by Kashmir Khadi Institutions.
