J&K govt retrieves 225 kanal EP land | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 17: Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla has asked the revenue officers to retrieve Evacuee Property (EP) and state land from land grabbers forcefully in their respective jurisdictions. In an official handout issued here today, Bhalla has stated that government has also established a special complaint cell in the offices of Deputy Commissioners exclusively for getting information about illegal EP and state land encroachments across the state. This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the Revenue Officers during his visit to Panchwati village near Mishriwala to inspect retrieved 225 kanal EP land and 50 kanal State Land from land grabbers, here this afternoon Bhalla asked the EP and state land authorities to demolish structures from the retrieved land and fenced the area. He said that government has also received complaints from different corners regarding fake allotment of state and EP land in different areas of the State. He asked them to enquire the reality on ground and notice to higher authorities for further necessary action. Minister said that best officer/official of EP and Revenue Department will be awarded on their best performance in this regard and poor to face action. Earlier, Bhalla also convened a meeting of Rogi Kalayan Samiti at Rajiv Gandhi Leprosy Rehabilitation Prevention hospital at Gangyal. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Custodian, Jammu, Abdul Majid Wani, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Jammu, Indeerjit Bhagat besides other senior officers of Revenue and Evacuee Property accompanied the Minister.
