| Kathua resident up in arms against DC, MLA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Feb 17: Residents of ward number 13 of Kathua town today blocked Hatli Morh-Kathua link road for more than two hours and raised slogans against Deputy Commissioner (DC) and the local MLA.
In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that resident of ward 13 namely Davinder Singh, Shiv Charan, Janak Singh, Joginder Singh, Darshan Devi, Raj Kumari, Rekha Rani, Shakuntala, Anju Bala and Mamta Sharma accused contractor-cum-ex-president of municipal committee Naresh Sharma of deliberately ignoring their ward.
They alleged that blacktopping of the streets is nowhere to be seen while the drainage system is absent. After two hours, the protestors were pacified executive officer (EO) municipal committee Kathua. He assured the protestors that construction works of the lanes and drains in ward number 13 of the Kathua district would start within one week.
