Sonia, Manmohan, Azad’s peace initative receives all round acclaim: Peerzada

Srinagar, November 12
Addressing a largest ever gathering since last 17 years at Anantnag where around 20,000 people have gathered JKPCC President and Minister for Education Haj and Auqaf Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed said that since Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has taken over reins of State Government a new era of progress was initiated. He said when coalition government was formed under proper common minimum programme in 2002 since then the government is committed for peace and all those elements who are against peace and prosperity of State are enemies of people. Peerzada said that it was Mrs. Sonia Gandhi who personally came from Delhi to open Srinagar-Muzafarabad Road and is likely to be made one of the major trade routes in the sub continent. He said during the last one year opening of Poonch-Rawalkote Road, which was formally inaugurated by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, has given golden opportunity to the divided families of Poonch to meet each other regularly.
Peerzada said that in the peace process holding of two Roundtable Conferences by Dr Man Mohan Singh and Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has given clear signal to the world about the commitment of the country and particularly of the congress party about our strong commitment for peace. Peerzada said peace is prerequisite for all kinds of progress and those elements who are killing innocent civilians are actually sabotaging the development of our State. He said we would have been for ahead in the country on the path of progress in case militancy and violence would not have emerged during last 17 years. He complemented people that inspite of all the odds they are bravely assembling in the public meetings to demonstrate their commitment for peace prosperity and vision of Mr. Azad, which he has envisioned in his dream of Khushal Kashmir.
Peerzada advised the political parties rather than hammering concept of autonomy and self-rule in public the same should be discussed in proper working group which has been constituted for the purpose. Peerzada said that Azad led government has gone beyond the recommendations of Wazir commission which had recommended only 4 districts 3 for Jammu and one for Kashmir but instead 8 districts, 13 Tehsils and 3 Sub divisions were create in one go which has not happened during last three decades. Peerzada said that on the development front government is committed emphasized for launching short term power generation programmes, implementing various schemes under Bharat Nirman, Prime Ministers Reconstruction Programme, road connectivity, establishment of schools and various social welfare programmes.
On this occasion, Mr. Maqbool Dar, Ex. Union Home Minister, Mr. Mohammed Amin Bhat Youth President Pradesh Congress Committee, Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Chowdry Mehr Noor, Mr., Abdul Majeed Paddar, Mr. Nadaf, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Rather, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Bhat, and Mr. Annayatullah Rathar also addressed the large gathering and praise Mr. Azad for his revolutionary steps taken for the benefit of the people. They also lauded the Chief Minister for initiating vigorous drive against corruption and land Mafia who have usurped 13 lakh canals of land.
The meeting was scheduled to be addressed by Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad whose helicopter could not land at the venue because of bad weather. Peerzada Sayeed on behalf of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad conveyed best wishes to the people of Anantnag who had assembled in large numbers.
