Government orders removal of 12 more bunkers from Srinagar | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu Feb 17: The state government Thursday ordered removal of 12 more security bunkers from Srinagar city, with this the numbers of removed bunkers from city reaches to 39. In security review meeting late Thursday evening the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah ordered removal of 12 more security bunkers from the Srinagar city. Confirming this, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that in today's Security review meeting, it was decided that 12 more security bunkers mostly from the thick populated old city areas will be removed from tomorrow. The demolition of security bunkers will start immediately and the decision was taken in right earnest to address the concerns of the civilian population of Srinagar city' Omar Abdullah told KNS. It merits a mention that the government had already removed 27 security bunkers from the Srinagar city and with the removal of 12 bunkers from the city, it will reach 39 mark. Chief Minister said that it is a continues process and his government is seriously considering minimising of security forces from remote rural areas also. He added that his government's top priority is to give respite to the people of the state and thinning out the presence of security forces an bunkers is part of this policy.
