Militants attack police post in valley | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SOPORE Feb 17: Heavily armed militants attacked a police post near Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, but no casualty was reported, officials said. Around 5:30 am, the militants carried out the attack at Warpora in the north Kashmir's apple town Sopore, police said. According to reports, the militants attacked with grenades and AK 47 rifles, triggering a firefight that continued for 15 minutes. No one was killed or injured, an official said. After the attack, police, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and army officials launched a combing operation in the area. Sopore is 15 km north of Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. |
