| VDC member's son among 3 shoot themselves dead | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu Feb 17: A VDC member's son and two others, including an army jawan, allegedly committed suicide by shooting themselves dead in separate incidents here today.
Police sources said Munish Singh (19), son of VDC member Ranjit Singh of Bali in Kalakote, Rajouri, yesterday shot himself dead with the .303 rifle of his father.
Bleeding profusely, he was shifted by his family to hospital but was declared brought dead by doctors.
In a separate incident, army jawan Sanjeev Saini of Hiranagar allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Jourian area of Akhnoor on the city outskirts yesterday.
The jawan was posted in Bari Brahmana area but had gone to firing range for training. He shot himself with his INSAS rifle and died on the spot, the sources added.
Meanwhile, a mechanic allegedly shot himself with a gun and died on the spot at Prem Nagar in Doda.
Identified as Dilbagh Singh, he originally hailed from Una, Himachal Pradesh.
Cases in this connection stand registered at the concerned police stations. |
