Protest against BSNL at Lakhanpur, subscribers demand restoration of network

Lakhanpur, Nov 11
Residents of Lakhanpur town today protests against, what they call insufficient services from BSNL end to the local subscribers.
Chanting slogans against BSNL authorities about two hundred people assemble in Lakhanpur town and held a protest demonstration, they were demanding regular service and maintenance of landline phone lines. “Trust me my land line phone is dead from the last three months and my mobile connection gets connected with unknown numbers” alleged a local resident, adding that if the BSNL authorities will not provide better services we will disconnect all the lines and invite some private operator in the town. He added.
Residents allege that they have to bear roaming even being the residents of Jammu and Kashmir. “If we cross Lakhanpur or went to some other village we have to bear roaming charges as our mobile set gets tower of Punjab network” another resident said, adding that besides roaming our mobiles and landlines give us only tune ‘IS ROOT KI SABI LINAY VEST HAI’. He added.
Not only this now you can listen even secret talks of people who chat through mobile “Last week I was trying to contact one of relative at about 11 pm my mobile got connected with another mobiles where a husband and wife were quarreling” says one of the scriber adding, now it is very risky to share personal things on mobile.
The protest was organized by the councilors of the town and more than seventy BSNL subscribers sign the application which they later threaten to file in consumer court.
When contacted JTO concerned, N D Sharma told News Agency that there are certain reasons for the complaints one of which is technical snag due to the digging of road by National Highway Authority of India and another was less signal in mobile towers. He said adding, we have proposed one more mobile tower for the town.
