Avoid HR violations during anti-militancy operations: Khoda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Feb 18: Stressing need for maintaining strict vigil and caution to thwart ''evil designs'' of anti-national elements, Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda today directed security agencies to take care of human rights while fighting militancy in the state. All security agencies should take care of human rights while fighting militants besides maintaining strict vigil and caution to thwart the evil designs of anti-national elements bent upon to create law and order problems, Khoda said chairing a high level security review meeting at Police Control Room here. The meeting, attended by top security and civil officers, discussed in detail the prevailing situation in the valley and the strategy to maintain peace. DGP laid thrust on the co-operation of police and civil authorities at all levels of governance. Khoda asked officers to adopt public friendly approach while making security and other arrangements so that people don’t face any problem. DGP also asked the officers to promote community policing at 'thana' (police station) level so as to build a close rapport with the public. He laid stress on formations of youth clubs in all the districts so as to involve the youth in many productive activities. Meeting was also attended by Special Director General of CRPF Anirudh Uppal, Home secretary, B.R.Sharma, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Asgar Samoon, Inspector General of police, Kashmir, S.M.Sahai, Deputy Inspector General of police, central Kashmir, A G Mir, DIG south Kashmir S.A.Watali, DIG (North Kashmir) Muneer Khan and DIG CID N D Wani. District Magistrate Srinagar Mehraj Kakroo, District Magistrate Budgam Mohammad Rafi, SSP, CID Javed Reyaz Bedar, SSP Srinagar Syed Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, SSP Security Rafiq-ul-Hassan, SSP Budgam Utam Chand and SSP PCR Javed Faroqui were present on the occasion, the spokesman said.
