Sustain planning for implementing Rural Dev schemes: Madan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 18: Member of Parliament Madan Lal Sharma who is also Chairman Vigilance Committee for Rural Development Department for Poonch district urged upon concerned officers to implement Rural development schemes in close coordination of line agencies, demonstrating sincerely in chalking out plans and in their execution by involving Locals. He further impressed upon them to ensure road connectivity to at least a habitation of 500 rural populations and formulate development projects benefiting rural population of this Border District under BADP for which Central Government allocate funds liberally. He instructed district Administration to ensure quarterly review of rural development works in each constituency of District. Sharma passes this instruction while presiding over Governing body meeting of Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Poonch here today. MLA Ajaz Ahmad Jan, District Development Commissioner Poonch Kuldeep Lal Khajuria, SSP Ashkoor Ahmad Wani, ADDC Sayed Anwar Hussain Shah, Non- Official members of Governing body and district officers of line department attended the meeting. Reviewing pace of development activities meeting was told that Rs. 36.60 lacs have been expended for sponsoring 493 cases to financial institutions upto January last out of which 127 stands sanctioned advancing loan of Rs. 49 lacs in favour of beneficiaries. During current fiscal year 46400 fruit plants have been planted benefitted 1408 beneficiaries under Horticulture sector. A total 7362 hectors have been treated under both projects with an expenditure of Rs. 4.12 cores. Sharma also distributed engagement orders to 24 women community facilitators who were appointed by “Modern Cultural Club” Poonch Rajouri at a special function organized by the NGO here today.
