JKNPP demands special package for neglected areas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 19: Chairman Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Prof Bhim Singh today urged Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh either to declare all neglected and backward areas of J&K as scheduled areas or provide a special package of 1000 crores for their development. He said areas like Tangdhr, Uri, Gurez, Drass, Zanskar, Padder, Marhwa-Dachhan, Gool-Mahore, Latti-Basantgarh, Bani, Mendhar-Mandi have remained totally neglected since 1947. The Panthers Party Chairman said that these areas need road and rail connectivity even mobile services have not reached Karnah till this day. Rate of literacy is as low as 10-15 persons. The people of these areas have maintain secular credentials through out though they have remain deprived of basic essential needs like drinking water, electricity, medicines and even education. The Panthers Party chief urged Prime Minister of India to set up a an advisory committee for the development of these most neglected areas.
