| PDP welcomes statement of patron’s statment | | | Srinagar, Nov 11, PDP Patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who is currently in New York heading the non-official Indian delegation to the United Nations General Assembly has sent message to his party colleagues which was read at a Zonal President Convention of valley districts organized at Srinagar today. The message which was read on the occasion reads as under, “I will be interacting various cross section of people including various think tanks, opinion makers and Kashmiris from both parts. The focus of my discussion remained for finding ways to end the scourge of violence in Jammu and Kashmir and its people, besides to build consensus on a peaceful, honorable, feasible and implementable solution of Kashmir problem. My focus is also remain for highlighting that the dignity and welfare of people of Jammu and Kashmir should be of paramount importance and the Kashmiri Pandits who left the valley in the wake of violence need to come back to restore the composite of our state. I have also highlighted the importance of cross LoC confidence building measures to be accelerated, made meaningful an institutionalized to improve the economy of the state and region and dialogue process must continue between India and Pakistan and with various groups within the state to evolve final consensus on a practical solution of the problem. I have also highlighted that the PDP stands for Self-Rule as most viable solution of the problems that could emerge lasting solution as it is a comprehensive package handling not only the internal and external dimension of the problem but encompasses political, social and economic aspect as well. I am glad to inform all of you that an overwhelming public opinion of Kashmiri Diaspora is in favour of peace and reconciliation and want the Indo-Pak dialogue process to concretize so that the region opens up for free inter-state movement of people and goods”. The participations amidst chairs welcomed the statement of the Party Patron and extended full support from all ranks and files of the party.
