Ramisht organizes programme on Tobacco day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 19: National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Ramisht College of Education Basohli organized an off campus program on the World Tobacco Day at Pathiara here today. The day was celebrated to aware public about the harmful effects of using tobacco. The NSS workers aware the villagers through door to door campaign about the bad effects of tobacco. They made aware the people to understand that use of tobacco in form of smoking cigarette and bidi are very much injurious to health. The volunteers alert the public that frequent use of tobacco leads to diseases like lungs Cancer, Asthma, Throat Cancer and other diseases of chest and respiratory system. The public also gave full co-operation to the volunteers and promised that they will try to abstain use of tobacco and its different products. The Principal of the college, K K Sawhney applauded the efforts of NSS Volunteer and inspired them that such activities must be organized frequently as these activities are very much useful for eradicating such evils from the society. He said that formation of the healthy society is only possible if its citizens are healthy.
