| Action against land grabbers after proof: CM | | | Jammu: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today said that the government has taken cognizance of the report on alleged land grabbing cases following which categorical directions have been given to the vigilance organization to book any one whosoever he may be and whatever party he belongs to. The action, he asserted will only be taken if there is solid evidence to corroborate and substantiate the allegations. “We cannot take action on hypothetical basis…..though the government has taken note of what has been reported”, the CM said asserting that proof is vital and for this in depth investigations should be carried out. “ If the evidence against the persons is sound and solid the government won’t hesitate to take action no matter whether the persons belong to NC or Congress”, Omar said.
Supporting son’s assertion on evidence, Dr Farooq quipped, “I also advise the newspapers not to publish anything without any proof ….”. There were some allegations about me and my ministry too about some embezzlement while I was in Cairo….I wonder how people can write and imagine things on such issue”, Farooq said , adding in a lighter vein it was not his in his temperament to amass wealth at all.
