Channi Himmat residents hold meet with DCM, others | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Feb 20 The residents of Channi Himmat Housing Colony, spearheading the drive for evacuation of the precious land costing nearly Rs 150 crore, meant for development of green belt park, organized a meeting here today. In the meeting, they interacted with Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Raman Bhalla, Minister Revenue, Relief and Rehabilation, the Director General of State Police, Kuldeep Khoda, IGP Dilbhag Singh, , Heads of State Admimstreation including Dr Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner Jammu; the Managing Director, J&K Housing Board. They discussed the issues and difficulties faced by the concerned authorities in carrying out the development works of the land despite the clear directions of the Divisional Bench of High Court to the Housing Board, to take up development work of the said land, non stop and uninterrupted. The residents were overwhelmed by the assurances of all the dignitaries who had extended them all type of assistance in carrying out the mission, which was, otherwise, not an easy task in view of all- over network of hindrances spread by the influential grabbers. The entire administration were courteous by assigning the responsibility to different wings for monitoring the progress of the development works of Green Belt park at personal level and assured that the works would be carried out in double shifts without any hindrance deploying sufficient Police force and other resources Showing very keen interest in the development of Green Belt Park, in particular, on war footings, Dy. CM and Revenue Minister also agreed to the request of the residents to visit the development site in near future.
