Rally in Mansbal, Ganderbal | 20000 youths turn up for recruitment in Army | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Feb 21: Huge rush is being witnessed in Mansbal area of Ganderbal district these days with thousands of youths turning up for Army’s recruitment rally. More than 20000 youths have turned up at Sanik School Manasbal-venue for the recruitment rally – in the last three days. Traveling in buses, matadors, private vehicles and on motorcycles, young men from far off places like Baramulla, Sopore, Kupwara and Bandipora in north Kashmir, Anantnag, Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian in south Kashmir districts have been thronging the venue from last few days to get a job in Army. A senior army official said that more than 20000 youths rallied at the recruitment center in the last three days. “6 to 7 thousand have been short listed after physical and written tests. They have been given tokens for undergoing further physical tests for recruitment in the army,” he said while adding that it is quite encouraging that youths are now seeking a future in the army. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Imtiyaz Hussain said that elaborate police arrangements had been made in Ganderbal district for the rally. “In view of huge crowds of youth reporting for the recruitment, we had made elaborate arrangements. This will continue for another four days,” he added.
