JU holds Interactive session on Buddhist studies

JAMMU, Feb 21: An Interactive session was organized today by the Friends of Ladakh,
Centre for History and Culture of Jammu and Ladakh Regions, University of Jammu.
Prof. Sophana Srichampa, Chair, Centre for Bharat Studies, Mahidol
University, Bangkok, who came here with a delegation of eight faculty members and research scholars, delivered a special talk on; “Indology in the Universities of Thailand with Special reference to Buddhist Studies”.
It was followed by a Question-Answer session. Prof. Anita Billawaria, Director, Centre for History and Culture of Jammu & Ladakh Regions and Secretary, Friends of Ladakh welcomed the Guests, whereas Prof B. Labh, Dept. of Buddhist Studies and the Editor, La-dwaags, introduced Prof. Sophana Srichampa and other members of the delegation.
Prof R. D. Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs presided over the function whereas Dr. P. S. Pathania. Registrar of the University, and also the Treasurer of the Society was the Special Guest.
