The committee members, comprising K L Bhalla Patron, Sachin Khurana vice president RBBA, Sanjay Gupta general secretary, Nitish Choudhary secretary, Vikas Gupta treasurer laid stress on the PWD officers for completion of their part of the project at the earliest. They said that the beautification project of RN Bazaar should be completed before the train services to Katra commenced which would likely to give a set back to the importance and business of Jammu city. The beautification and development of Raghunath Bazaar include laying of Dholpuri (Rajasthani) red stones on the footpaths in the bazaar, as far as PWD is concerned. The project for development and beautification of historical Raghunath Bazaar was approved by the government in 2009, after detailed discussions with all the concerned departments. The total estimated cost of the project has been 5.60 crores. The committee emphasized that the respective works by all the concerned departments should be carried on in a coordinated manner, so that digging for the purpose does not take place repeatedly. The project aims at reviving the pristine glory of 155 years old bazaar, by giving it an antique look. On the part of the shopkeepers they have already completed 70 percent of the work of painting their shutters with Dogra Art, giving resemblance of Raghunath temple. Besides this the signboards of the shops are to be painted on the pattern of Basholi Art, the committee members disclosed.
