PYC delegation calls on Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 21: A delegation of the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) met the Governor, N N Vohra, at Raj Bhavan here today. A 9-member delegation, led by the Senior Vice President of the State Youth Congress, R S Pathania, raised various demands before the Governor which include rationalization of the existing Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies in the State; creation of infrastructure at various places of tourist interest across the Jammu Division; better traffic management in Jammu city; adoption of 73rd Constitutional Amendment to adequately strengthen Panchayati Raj institutions in the State and provision of rent for the agricultural land, covered by the border fencing in the Pargwal area of Jammu district. Other demands projected by the delegation included operationalization of the State Information Commission, State Vigilance Commission and State Accountability Commission; streamlining the procedure for unemployed youth securing bank loans to set up self-employment ventures under various schemes; provision of coaching facilities for the boys and girls of the State for appearing in various competitive examinations at the national level and early establishment of the Jammu Central University. The Governor heard the delegation patiently.
